Treatment of chronic gastritis in an adult labrador working dog: A case study

Gastritis is a common condition in dogs resulting due to inflammation of the gastric mucosa. The stomach lining can be subjected irritation by several substances including foreign bodies and food components, which may disagree with digestive system canine. An adult Labrador working male dog, named as “Diesel” aged eight years six months was presented complaints decreased feed intake upset. Temperature general activity remained normal. Vomiting foamy bile seen twice day. All hemato-biochemical parameters were within normal range except for blood urea, serum creatinine alkaline phasphatse, showed higher values. Based on clinic-biochemical presentation, case diagnosed chronic gastritis treatment regime comprising fluid therapy, antiemetics, antacids antibiotics administered. animal responded recovery uneventful.
